Day 49 - Some drywall

Finally got some drywall.  Just the upstairs was worked on, and not completed.  All of the drywall was screwed in and not nailed...I see all of these blogs that mention nail pops, but we did not spot a single nail in the drywall.  Do different areas hang drywall differently?  Would they put nails in later?

In the basement - the tankless water heater was installed...and we have a water main leak :(  Hubby sent a text out to PM as there was some water build up in the basement.  On the side of the house, looks like a truck or something swiped it and gouged out some of the house wrap...asked for that to be fixed too.  Also talked to the company that installed the furnace and asked them about installing AC once we close...price was $1500 less than what RH was charging...umm OK sign us up :)

    1. No - AC was an upgrade. The duct work for the furnace is all compatible...but for the actual AC unit RH wanted like $3800

  2. It really doesn't take that much longer to use screws. I honestly don't know why they don't just do that instead of using nails. Congrats, that's great!

  3. It's exciting to see it all come together! Good call on asking about the AC after the fact.

  5. Yay drywall. Screws are much better. Hopefully no nail pops.

  6. When they did our drywall they mostly used screws and 30 days later I still don't see any nail pops fingers crossed!
I am also surprised that AC isn't standard, I guess its the area you are building in.

  7. I'm so jealous that you guys have a tankless water heater! We had one in our old house, and I'm sad to feel that we're "downgrading" to not having one here. No choice to upgrade it though, unfortunately.

Also surprised about the AC! But at least you're able to get it.

Not to highjack your blog posting, but Ryan Homes recently ran a promotion where they invited people to upload a photo of their favorite grilled food. Now they're asking for people to vote for their favorite, today thru next Monday.

I'd REALLY appreciate it if you could take the time to visit the link (https://apps.tradablebits.com/fb/fFyb) and vote for my entry: GRILLED CORN, AVOCADO AND TOMATO. Feel free to borrow the recipe I posted there as well!

    Thanks! - buildingwithryanhomes-blogspot.com
